Taylor Swift’s ‘Tortured Poets Department’ shatters numerous records

Taylor Swift’s “Tortured Poets Department” Shatters Streaming Records

Taylor Swift’s latest album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” has not only topped the sales charts but has also shattered streaming records across multiple platforms. Despite a partial leak before its release, Swifties came out in full force to support their favorite artist.

On Spotify, the album was streamed a staggering 300 million times on its first day, making it the most streamed album of the year in less than 12 hours. This feat surpassed even Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter,” which had not crossed the 200-million-stream mark this year.

The album’s first single, “Fortnight,” also made history by becoming the most-streamed song in a single day on Spotify. These records are not new to Taylor Swift, as she had previously amassed 26.1 billion streams on Spotify alone last year.

Apple Music declared “The Tortured Poets Department” as the “biggest pop album of all time” based on first-day streams, while Amazon Music announced it as the most streamed album globally in its first week in just three days.

Swift surprised fans by revealing that the album was a double album at the Grammy Awards, keeping this detail a secret until its release. She shared on Threads, “I’d written so much tortured poetry in the past 2 years and wanted to share it all with you, so here’s the second installment of TTPD: The Anthology. 15 extra songs. And now the story isn’t mine anymore… it’s all yours.”

The success of “The Tortured Poets Department” is a testament to Taylor Swift’s enduring popularity and the unwavering support of her dedicated fan base. Never bet against Swifties when it comes to breaking records and dominating the music industry.
