Taylor Swift shatters Spotify single-day records with release of 11th studio album

Taylor Swift Breaks Spotify Records with Release of “The Tortured Poets Department”

Taylor Swift shattered Spotify’s single-day records with the release of her latest album, “The Tortured Poets Department.” The 11th studio album from the 34-year-old singer became the most-streamed album in a single day in Spotify history, with Swift herself becoming the most-streamed artist in a single day on the platform.

This achievement marks Swift’s second record-breaking moment on Spotify, as she had previously set the record for most-streamed artist in a single day back in October 2023 with the release of “1989 (Taylor’s Version).” Additionally, Swift’s collaboration with Post Malone titled “Fortnight” became the most-streamed song on a single day on Spotify.

“The Tortured Poets Department” also made history by being the first album on Spotify to surpass 300 million streams in a single day and crossing the 200 million stream mark. Swift now holds the top three most-streamed albums in a single day in Spotify history, including “Midnights” from 2022 and “1989 (Taylor’s Version).”

Even before its release, “The Tortured Poets Department” was breaking records, becoming the most pre-saved album Countdown Page in Spotify history. Swift surprised fans by announcing on Instagram that the album is a secret double album with 15 extra songs, sharing her poetry from the past two years.

Swift’s success on Spotify adds to her list of achievements on the platform, including being the first female artist to reach 100 million monthly listeners in August 2023 and having “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” become the most-streamed country album in a single day in July 2023.

Fans can’t get enough of Taylor Swift’s music, and with each release, she continues to make history on Spotify.
