Taylor Swift’s Surprise Double Album Release: “The Tortured Poets Department”
Billionaire musician Taylor Swift shocked fans in the early hours of the morning with a surprise announcement of her 11th studio album, “The Tortured Poets Department.” But that’s not all – Swift revealed that this album is actually a “double album,” with more than a dozen extra songs released just hours after the initial drop.
In a social media post on Instagram and X (formerly known as Twitter), Swift described the release as a “2 a.m. surprise,” sharing that she had recorded an additional 15 tracks for the album. The singer expressed her desire to share all the “tortured poetry” she had written over the past two years with her fans, stating, “And now the story isn’t mine anymore… it’s all yours.”
Some of the new tracks on the secret album include titles like “The Black Dog,” “Cassandra,” “Peter,” “The Albatross,” and “I Look In People’s Windows.” Additionally, Swift announced that the music video for the first single off the album, “Fortnight” featuring Post Malone, will premiere on Friday night.
With this surprise album drop, Swift continues to solidify her status as a music industry powerhouse. Having recently reached billionaire status in 2023, thanks to her successful Eras tour and the value of her music catalog, Swift is now making waves as the first musician to join Forbes’ billionaires list solely from her songs and performances.
Fans can now enjoy a total of 31 tracks on “The Tortured Poets Department,” as Swift’s latest musical endeavor takes the world by storm.
