Taylor Swift Makes History at the GRAMMYs by Winning Album of the Year for ‘Midnights’

Taylor Swift Makes GRAMMYs History with Album of the Year Win

Taylor Swift made history at the 2024 GRAMMY Awards, walking away with two major wins and a new album announcement. The 34-year-old singer-songwriter took home Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for her record “Midnights,” making her the first artist ever to win four Album of the Year awards in their career. Swift’s Best Pop Vocal Album win was her 13th GRAMMY Award, a significant number for her as she considers 13 to be her lucky number.

During her acceptance speech, Swift revealed a secret she had been keeping for two years – the upcoming release of her 11th studio album, titled “The Tortured Poets Department,” set to be released on April 19th. The singer expressed her gratitude to the Recording Academy and her fans for their support.

Swift was overwhelmed by her historic moment and thanked her friend and producer Jack Antonoff, as well as Lana Del Rey, whom she described as a “generational artist.” Despite her numerous nominations, Swift has yet to win in the Song and Record of the Year categories.

The pop star arrived at the ceremony in a custom-made Schiaparelli gown and was seated with Lana Del Rey. Despite speculation, Swift did not perform at the GRAMMYs due to her ongoing Eras Tour, which will resume in Tokyo, Japan on February 7th.

Following her performances in Japan, Swift will continue her tour in various countries before returning to North America in the fall. Fans can expect to see her in Australia, Singapore, Europe, and back in the United States for shows in Miami, New Orleans, and more.

Overall, Taylor Swift’s night at the 2024 GRAMMY Awards was a historic and memorable one, solidifying her status as one of the music industry’s most successful and beloved artists.
