Hayley Williams Commends Taylor Swift and Beyoncé’s Albums

Hayley Williams Shares Albums Keeping Her Company: Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, and More

Hayley Williams, the lead singer of Paramore, recently shared some of the albums that have been keeping her company. Among the albums on her list were Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter” and Taylor Swift’s “The Tortured Poets Department.” Williams had nothing but sweet things to say about both albums.

Regarding Beyoncé’s country LP, Williams wrote on Instagram stories, “I cry at the same part of ‘American Requiem’ every time. Showed my mom and she got chills around the same time. When Beyonce sings, ‘If you ain’t got no grits get the f*** up out the south.’ I feel the kind of Southern pride that exists — subversively — amongst hatred and fear.”

Williams also praised Taylor Swift’s recently released 31-song LP, celebrating their upcoming tour together in Europe this summer. She wrote, “Had me from the storytelling alone, my friend. Every one of us knows this kind of grief! It’s so impressive to me how specific and colorful Taylor’s words get without ever losing the universal thread.”

In addition to Beyoncé and Taylor Swift, Williams also mentioned Brittany Howard’s “What Now,” Rufus Wainwright’s “Want One,” and Tierra Whack’s “World Wide Whack” as albums that she’s been enjoying. She also gave nods to Radiohead, The Smile, and Idles.

Paramore is set to open for Taylor Swift on the Eras Tour, starting on May 9 in Paris and making stops in cities like Lisbon, Madrid, and Amsterdam. The tour will conclude with five consecutive shows at London’s Wembley Stadium. Williams expressed her excitement for the tour and the opportunity to share the stage with Swift.
