Taylor Swift’s latest album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” has broken records and made history once again. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, marking Swift’s 14th album to reach the top spot and tying her with Jay-Z for the most No. 1 albums among solo artists.

“The Tortured Poets Department” earned an impressive 2.61 million equivalent album units in the U.S. in its first week, with traditional album sales making up a significant portion of that total. The album also saw a record-breaking number of streams, with 891.34 million on-demand official streams for the deluxe edition’s 31 songs.

This achievement not only marks the largest streaming week for an album but also the second-largest week for an album in terms of total equivalent album units earned since the Billboard 200 began measuring by units in 2014. Additionally, it is the third-largest sales week for an album in the modern era.

Swift’s album has not only dominated the charts in the U.S. but has also topped the UK music chart with the biggest first-week sales in seven years. Furthermore, “The Tortured Poets Department” has made history on Spotify, becoming the first album to surpass one billion streams in a single week and breaking the record for the most-streamed album in a single day.

With this latest success, Taylor Swift now holds the top three spots for the most-streamed albums in a single day on Spotify, solidifying her status as a powerhouse in the music industry. Swift took to Instagram to share her excitement over the Billboard news, further cementing her place as a music icon.
